We all know it is a challenge, some having a harder time than others. I thought I had parenting figured out. My son, Aidan, was, and still is, incredibly easy going. He will eat whatever you put in front of him, he has never thrown a serious tantrum, and is so well behaved it is scary. Avery, my daughter, is the complete opposite. She is everything I feared; 18 months of tantrums, screaming, crying, and food throwing. The crying and tantrums are not what bothers me the most. What I have the hardest time with is the refusal to eat. Both of my kiddos are snackers, so I like to give a healthy assortment of snacks for picky toddlers.

4 Snacks for Picky Toddlers

  1. Smoothies: Add fruit, yogurt, and ice in a blender and whip up a fresh smoothie. You may even be able to sneak in some greens like spinach and kale for extra nutrients. A cup with a lid and straw will help to make it toddler friendly!
  2. Watermelon: It is sweet, hydrating, and refreshing. Watermelon is especially perfect for hot summer days after playing outdoors.
  3. Cheese: We all love cheese! Cube up some mild cheddar and mozzarella and let your little one indulge. Cheese has great nutrients and the right amount of fat for our growing toddlers.
  4. Lil’ Beanies: By Gerber, they are a great healthy snack for picky toddlers because they are tasty and contain protein and fiber for your growing toddler!

I first spotted Gerber Lil’ Beanies as I was strolling up and down the baby aisles at Target recently. Located on the same shelves as Aidan and Avery’s favorite Gerber snacks, they caught my eye since I had never seen them before. I figured why not give them a try?
